Celebrating Earth Day: Inspectify’s commitment to sustainability
Good planets are hard to come by, and Earth Day is a celebration of the beautiful one we all call home! It’s also a reminder to restore and preserve our environment for generations to come. In honor of Earth Day 2022, we pledge to “Electrify Inspectify” this year by incorporating energy efficiency into home inspection reports to help homeowners be more sustainable.
It’s no secret that homes and buildings are significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. They generate roughly 40% of global CO2 emissions, with 28% coming from the operation of buildings (heating, cooling, lighting, and use of other appliances). Taking steps to decrease greenhouse gas emissions is crucial for combatting the climate crisis at hand.
To help homeowners assess and improve their home’s energy efficiency, Inspectify will be introducing energy audits and scores as an add-on to home inspection services. A home energy audit evaluates your home’s energy usage to help identify where energy is wasted and recommend ways to fix those issues. Some of the items that may be assessed during an energy audit are:
- Lighting and energy loads
- Insulation
- Heating and cooling systems
- Water heaters
- Electronics
- Doors and windows
- Habits and energy bills
Being aware and proactive about home energy usage is a way for us to contribute to keeping Earth happy, healthy, and prosperous. At Inspectify, we hope that providing better insights and recommendations on energy efficiency will help make our planet (and pockets) a little greener!
We love our planet and need to make sure it's as beautiful and green for our kids as it was for us. We’re thrilled to be able to help homeowners make a difference. Our team is actively working on this project, hoping to launch sometime this year. Stay tuned! We’re just getting started.
